Lately, Thea has been really into creating with paint and glue. In fact, I think she could do it all day long. As a result, we were collecting quite a stack of paper canvases.
We recently did some painting and a furniture swap in our sunroom, and I've been trying to think of the right thing to put on one large wall that was quite bare. Then in occurred to me that this was the perfect wall to display Thea's artwork.
I used two screws and a piece of paper twine, and small clothes pins to hang each piece.
I love it. And she does too. She gets so excited to see the things she's made on display for the world to see. "I MADE that!" she says, over and over. Such joy.
(On top of the cabinet - where we store our art supplies - is a small terrarium that Thea made a few weeks ago at our local farmer's market.)
And here are a few shots of the artist at work.
While we've been spending a lot of time in the art room of our local Children's Museum, this week, after Thea had surgery to repair and umbilical hernia, we've been working with what we have at home.
The sweet nurse who took care of Thea after her surgery let us take home her hospital gown. We think it makes a perfect art smock!
How do you display your child's art?
great idea! i've been wanting to do the same! love how it looks against that gray wall!
